This project addresses the challenge of monitoring environmental conditions at remote archaeological sites where regular human presence is impractical.

I designed and built a low-cost, renewable-powered monitoring station based on Raspberry Pi hardware that can operate autonomously for months at a time.

The system collects data on temperature, humidity, rainfall, and soil moisture—factors that can significantly impact site preservation.

Data is transmitted via LoRaWAN when available, with local storage as backup, and presented through a simple dashboard that helps site managers identify potential preservation issues.
